The road that leads to the far north of new Caledonia is magnificient, wether one comes from Ouegoa (East) or Koumac (West): an arid lunar land passing through all shades from orange to pure white, wild horses roaming free, and at the end of the road, absolute calm, with the sand throuwn up by the car still flying in the air behind you.

Still further out is the Belep archipelago, made up of five little islands, only one of which, Art, is permanently inhabited.

Over there, there are no tourist facilities but a welcoming and authentic community which, however, receives few visitors...
